First things first: I feel like I owe the project, and ultimately God an apology. When I accepted the task of completing Project 2009 for God, I promised Him that I would fully commit myself to nurturing it, and making it grow for His glory. Well, I am sad to say that for the last few weeks, I haven’t been talking about it or visiting/updating the site. I got very busy with preparing for and enjoying a mission trip through my Winona church, that Project 2009 kind of got swept to the side. That does not mean, however, that I have given up in any way. If anything, this realization just makes me hunger more for satisfying this goal for God! For those of you who check the site often, and have been waiting for an update, I’m sorry that I’ve been distant, but here are the details:
Like I said, I have been a little distant from the Project, but it is still going very well. In fact, today I just had 3 people donate to the project, which has made me very excited.
There still isn’t a definite place/organization that the money is going towards, but I have a feeling that over the summer I will gain a great perspective of organizations that could put the fund to good use. The reason for this is because I won’t be in school. Unfortunately, college is slightly restricting in such a way that I don’t spend much time on things other than school work. However, this summer, I plan to investigate and research possible candidates for receivers of the fund. I will put links up to their websites, and include information on here, because after all, WE ARE DECIDING TOGETHER where the money in the fund will end up.
Right now I would actually like to direct you to the site of the place that I did mission work over spring break. A group of 17 of us from Pleasant Valley Church traveled to Fresnillo, Mexico to serve by completing painting projects, helping plan a kid’s club in the city, and loving on the families down there. Overall, the city of Fresnillo is very dark in the sense that domestic abuse, drug use, and violence among groups of people who live there is far too common. However, the missionaries who work down there have done a great job of setting up a strong church in the community, and its population is constantly growing. Endless love and thanks to all of you who chose to be a part of this Project,
Kayla <3 Love

hey kayla!! i hope your trip went well and you were able to really share God's love in the ways i know you can and do!!
ReplyDeletei was thinking maybe stick with organizations closer to home. People are in need right in our home state, twin cities, home towns that could really use our help!
why be grateful to big organizations far away, when we can be helpful to small organizations close to home, where it may be easier to see the results and create a relationship with we not only can donate to these organizations but someday hope to work with or volunteer more often.
Just an idea!!
with love,
Danni
